Mobile Workshops

Big Four Bridge

Walk with us as we explore the waterfront areas in and around the Big Four Bridge. Starting in downtown Jeffersonville we will visit the downtown revitalization projects in and around Spring Street and Pearl Street, NoCo Arts and Cultural District, and the Big4 Bridge Station. Next, we will cross the Ohio River into Louisville’s Waterfront Park. While there we will walk along the riverside while making stops at several locations around the park, including the Lincoln Memorial Sculpture, before heading back across the bridge to Jeffersonville.

Ohio River Greenway

Join us as we bike along the Ohio River Greenway and learn about the rich history that can be found in Southern Indiana. We begin at the Big4 Bridge Station where we will hop on bikes provided by LouVelo, the region’s bike-share program. From there we head towards the river before turning west towards the Town of Clarksville to talk about the economic development efforts being made around Riverside Drive and the former Colgate-Palmolive Plant. Next there will be stops at the Loop Island Wetlands wildlife preservation area, the Lewis & Clark Bicentennial Park and a chat about River Heritage Conservancy’s planned Origin Park. Over in New Albany we will check out the one-way to two-way conversion project on Market and Spring streets. Finally, on our way back to Jeffersonville we will stop at the Falls of the Ohio River State Park which has the world’s largest exposed Devonian Period fossil beds.

Jeffersonville and Beyond

All aboard a Transit Authority of River City (TARC) bus for a tour of Jeffersonville and beyond! The tour will start along Spring Street in downtown and head north to check out bike and pedestrian improvements projects near Clark Memorial Health as well as Holmans Lane. We will talk about the recent developments in and around Veteran’s Parkway and 10th Street before heading to River Ridge Commerce Center. Afterwards we will cross the East End Bridge which opened in 2016. After returning to Indiana we will travel along the new heavy haul road known as International Drive. Before heading back downtown there will be an opportunity to see the Jeffersonville Port of Indiana and the former Jeffboat barge-making site where revitalization efforts are ramping up.
